Montgomery County Community College is launching a video contest for all students enrolled in credit courses for either the fall 2012 or spring 2013 semesters.
Students who want to take part in the contest are asked to make a two-minute video (or less, including credits) demonstrating a Sustainable Lifestyle — at home, within the community, or at the College. The contest began on Oct. 12 as part of the College’s Campus Sustainability Days. Winners will be announced on April 22, 2013 when the College celebrates Earth Day.
Students may submit up to two videos each; however, students may participate in an unlimited number of group submissions. All rights will be retained by the student(s), though implicit permission will be granted to the College for use in its promotions, including the right to edit and post to various College websites and blogs. Students are encouraged to post their videos to YouTube.
Entries must be submitted for judging by March 25, 2013, the first day of classes after Spring Break. This gives everyone plenty of time to conceive, film, and edit videos before submitting via the contest link on the Student Portal.
College Judges will evaluate the submitted videos and recommend award winners based on the following criteria:
- Adherence to the instructions
- Strength and clarity of message
- Visual presentation
- Grand Prize: $250 CulinArt Meal Card
- 1st Runner-Up:$50 CulinArt Meal Card
- 2nd Runner-Up: “Hoodie” sweatshirt from the College Book Store
Complete contest details will be available on the Student Portal by logging in to MyMC3.
